Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Immunology and Rheumatology, Stanford Medicine

Tamiko Katsumoto, MD, DipABLM is a clinical associate professor in the Division of Immunology and Rheumatology at Stanford University and is board certified in lifestyle medicine. She earned her MD from the University of California, San Francisco, where she also completed her internal medicine residency, rheumatology fellowship, and a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology. Dr. Katsumoto directs the Rheumatology Oncology Clinic and co-directs the Stanford Immune Related Toxicity Working Group, improving care for cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors. She has led and contributed to multiple clinical trials at Stanford and previously worked at Genentech on global immunology studies. Passionate about human and planetary health, she advocates for sustainable, whole-food, plant-centered diets to reduce inflammation, improve chronic disease outcomes, and mitigate climate change. She also co-leads the Food Systems, Health and Environment Working Group with the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and the Center for Human and Planetary Health. (Palo Alto, CA)
