Born in Hong Kong and shaped by its rich food culture, Mara King has built a dynamic career at the intersection of flavor, craft, and sustainability. After moving to Colorado, she spent more than 20 years influencing the region’s culinary landscape—working in beloved restaurants, teaching widely, and founding a pioneering fermented foods company. Today, she serves as the Director of Fermentation and Sustainability for IdEst, an impact-driven restaurant group recognized by Michelin, StarChefs, and the James Beard Foundation.
