Frank B. Hu, MD, MPH, PhD, is a world-leading researcher in diet, chronic disease prevention, and healthy aging. He is the Fredrick J. Stare Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology and Chair of the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Hu’s pioneering research has advanced understanding of how diet and lifestyle influence cardiometabolic health. He has published more than 1,500 scientific papers and is among the ten most cited researchers in medicine and public health worldwide. His work has been instrumental in advancing precision nutrition, dietary biomarkers, and evidence-based strategies to prevent chronic diseases globally. He has played a key role in shaping national and international dietary guidelines, including serving on the 2015 U.S. Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. Dr. Hu’s contributions to nutrition science and policy have been recognized with numerous honors, including the American Diabetes Association’s Kelly West Award for Outstanding Achievement in Diabetes Epidemiology, the American Heart Association’s Ancel Keys Memorial Lectureship, and election to the National Academy of Medicine—one of the highest honors in medicine and public health.
