Dr. Fabrice DeClerck
Chief Science Officer, EAT
Fabrice DeClerck is the Chief Science Officer at EAT as well as a Scientist with the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT – both organizations committed to healthier, more sustainable, and just food systems. He’s a geographer and ecologist by background, deeply privileged to having worked with farming and food communities around the world including small- and large-scale producers of both plant and animal crops. His collaborations aim to both understand, and act on food systems transformation to drive human health, environmental sustainability, and social justice. He has extensively published food systems research in top tier academic journals, and policy. The EAT-Lancet Commission which he leads currently sits as one of the most cited research papers… ever, as well as being in the top ten of research papers cited in policy. He is deeply committed to healthy, sustainable, just.. and delicious food systems and is convinced that food is our best bet solution to many of the world’s most pressing challenges. He currently lives in Montpellier, France, with his wife and two children where he owns and manages a small organic village brewery when not working, or on a trail.
